I’m Jo — photographer and visual storyteller.

I have lived in and around West Yorkshire most of my life and I still love living in this beautiful part of the world.

Photography has been with me since I was around 16 and found the darkroom at school. Initially shooting on film, and after finishing an Art degree and becoming a bank manager (try not to ask), I came back to photography in 2012. Since then, I have photographed so many weddings, children and families, and small artisan businesses, and worked with a lot of incredible people.

My style is natural, creative and honest. I work primarily with the light and also teach other business owners how to represent themselves better visually with an online photography class called ‘Lost In The Light’.

I’m a creative in my bones and love painting big old abstract landscapes, growing anything I can in my tiny garden bed, and walking our fox red lab Captain up on the farm tracks above our home. I love singing, and the best part of my day is listening to my three kids playing guitar and singing along together. I’m a chatter box (always have been) and an avid noticer of everything, and photographing people doing things they are passionate about is most certainly one of my favourite things!

I’ve been working with business owners for over 12 years. I shoot in natural light, I work alone, and I genuinely care about making this feel easy for people who find being in front of a camera hard.
